Preservation Meets Hospitality

While I was in Baltimore this past holiday weekend, I got a chance to walk through Kevin Plank’s, newly opened, boutique hotel, The Sagamore Pendry. Plank is the CEO of Under Armour, which is also headquartered in Baltimore. The headquarters sits right across the Harbour looking straight at what was once a deteriorating pier, now Plank has turned it into a new luxury hotel. Read more of this post

Making a Nightstand Mock-up for Hilton

As Tru by Hilton continues to evolve, questions come up from time to time regarding functionality.  The table circled in the rendering above fits the style of Tru, but is it large enough to function as a nightstand?  A detailed mock-up was needed to answer that question.  Remember, hundreds of these nightstands will be made, so we need to get it right the first time.  Here’s the build process. GlobalShop 2015

A group of thirteen FRCH designers were recently given the opportunity to explore the vast floor of GlobalShop 2015, an annual retail design conference held in Las Vegas. Everything from fixture manufacturers and mannequin displays to Cirque-du-Soleil and Latin dancing were explored. Lofty Lodging

Treehotel has taken hospitality and tree houses to new heights with unique cabins lofted high the trees of Sweden. My favorite, the Mirrorcube cabin, is camouflaged into the landscape of the forest from most vantages, with a wonderfully simple and surreal welcome statement upon arrival that reflects the modern dwelling within.
