Empty Bowls

Empty Bowls 2017, FRCH

This year a group of FRCH-ers got together to donate their time and talent to a local organization called Empty Bowls of Butler County.  The Empty Bowls concept started over 25 years ago in Michigan as an international project to fight hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level. People in the community contribute soup bowls that are individually painted and the finished products are then used as serving pieces for a fundraising meal of soup and bread. Contributing guests are then able to keep the empty bowls. Today Empty Bowls has grown to an innumerable number of events all over the country, benefiting numerous non-profits.

Each studio was given $25 and only two weeks to transform their chair, which are now available for eBay bidding through this Thursday, March 23 at 4:00 pm. Please share the eBay listings below with friends and family (but note that local pickup is required).  Read more of this post

RedsANOTO-TopBanner

Recently, The Cincinnati Reds hosted their annual “A Night Of Their Own” Baseball 101 event, exclusively for ladies (600 of them this year!) who wanted to experience what it is like to be a baseball player on and off the field. This event benefits the Reds Community Fund, which in turn helps the youth in the surrounding ‘Reds Country’. I was lucky enough to attend this event for the second time, so I wanted to share with you all the fun I had, as it keeps getting better every year! Read more of this post

The Heineken Experience

Heineken

Located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the Heineken Experience is a museum that celebrates the brand’s rich brewing history. The museum itself is located inside of the first Heineken brewery, which was established in 1867. I found my experience at the museum to be very positive due to the overall design of all the different exhibits as well as the interactive and communal aspects of the tour. I would recommend this tour for your next visit to Amsterdam and the best part is it’s only 18€ for several hours of fun! Read more of this post
