When our team made it to our hotel in London we were all a little bit tired and a lotta bit hungry. Our research before leaving the states led us to a restaurant that was new to the Shoreditch area, where we were staying, but an established name in London. Dishoom Bombay Café is an Indian food restaurant that internet bloggers, fellow FRCH-ers and locals all recommended. Dishoom does not accept reservations for small groups like ours, but stays open fairly late to accommodate all that decide to wait.  Read more of this post

March of Robots

March of Robots - Elliot LucasEvery March artists and illustrators around the country participate in a drawing challenge called March of Robots. The challenge is simple, design and draw one robot for each day of the month and then post it to social media. Drawing a robot each morning was a great way to kick start my creative energy and to work on my illustration and inking technique. Over the course of the 31 days I strived to make each design unique and looked to a variety of references for inspiration. Below is the complete collection of robots from the month long challenge. The “Find Your Art” Results

Two weeks ago we kicked off our #FindYourArt Chair Challenge – where volunteers from each FRCH studio put their creative minds (and hands) to work to benefit ArtsWave, by reimagining their canvas: a chair. Each studio was given $25 and only two weeks to transform their chair, which are now available for eBay bidding through this Thursday, March 23 at 4:00 pm. Today, we had the opportunity to visit the Paustian House on the waterfront in Copenhagen. A curated “House” (as they call the showroom) includes exquisitely designed and crafted furniture – Paustian’s own pieces, as well as well known designer brands like Knoll and Vitra. Read more of this post
