Coca-Cola and The Holidays

Am I the only one that finds it nearly impossible to resist buying a case of Coca-Cola when their packaging changes for the holidays and good ol’ reliable Santa Claus stares back with his warm, jolly smile?  I always find myself wholly enticed by the red on red packaging and the promise of warmth that a drink of refreshing Coke delivers this time of year.  Coca-Cola has genuinely co-branded itself with the winter season and somehow this makes it taste even better!

Do kids today leave Santa coke and salted cookies??? No, you are not alone. I am always sucked (slurped?) in by jolly ole St Nick and also by those adorable polar bears. You’d have to be Scrooge to resist!!!! Merry Christmas!!!

Fun Fact: The iconic Santa as we know and love him today with the jolly belly, red suit and white beard was not a reality until Coca-Cola contracted an illustrator to draw this exact image in 1931.

Wow! Thanks for the history lesson! I guess shouldn’t be too surprised. The Santa-Coke union is just too perfect to have been a happy accident!
