SAYL for Herman Miller

Yves Béhar and fuseproject have designed the SAYL chair for Herman Miller.

The challenge was to create an attainable task chair, something comfortable, supportive and beautiful. By making each piece of the chair work harder, fewer parts and less material translated into lower cost, the SAYL chair is available for $399.

The design was inspired by suspension bridges; the frameless back provides support by suspending the back material in tension between the seat and the vertical Y-shaped structure.
