On my recent trip to Paris, I was lucky enough to catch a special exhibit at Les Arts Decoratifs. Starting with a peek at the brand’s humble beginnings in 19th century Paris, the exhibit takes you on a journey through the eyes of its founder, Louis Vuitton Malletir, uncovering the history and evolution of the brand, right up until today, where you are immersed in the world of Artistic Director, Marc Jacobs and his vivid imagination.

Full of intensity and light, Uniqlo has opened a flagship store at 666 5th Ave. in New York. This store begins to beckon you from across the street, where second story window graphics flash behind rotating mannequins.

During a recent trip to Louisville, KY, some friends and I stopped by an art fair in Speed, IN. The booths presented everything from wooden kitchen utensils, to pottery and paintings. But for me, a collection of colorful and unique hats was the most memorable. As soon as I passed Justine Dennis’s booth, a quirky cherry pie hat made me smile.
When I stepped inside, I was enamored with her fiber necklaces. Before I knew it, my friend and I were trying on everything within arm’s reach.

A couple of years ago, FRCH partnered with D.L Couch wallcovering and walked away with people’s choice! This year we didn’t disappoint. FRCH was asked by Theresa Schneider, our LG rep, to design, build, and model a dress all from LG. Without hesitation, we took on the challenge.

In my never-ending quest for great (and travel appropriate) boots and only having disappointing retail experiences trying to find them, I finally had to turn to online sources – and frankly, I will never go back! Using Chuck Taylor All Star footwear (648 pairs!), Converse created a 40 foot long American flag in their new store at 560 Broadway in New York. Not quite a showstopper because of the interior corner location, it’s still a clever and effective way to grab your attention because of the sheer quantity of shoes.

I will be forever inspired by Denise Julia Reytan’s collection of accessories and installations from her Poems on the Body exhibit. Denise’s work consists of an innovative collage of precious and non-precious objects.
