Based out of Switzerland, the designers at Swatch have been continually innovative with their application of graphics to watches for nearly 30 years. I find their nod to pop culture and design quite intriguing. Their most successful designs contain references to transit maps, measuring tapes, sculptures, and Rubik’s cubes.

Its been quite awhile since I blogged – not counting the RIBS. Sorry. Retirement is so busy and time-consuming! I LOVE IT!!!
I’ve jumped out of the fast lane. No more 120 miles per hour to get it all done, meet the deadlines and squeeze in a life.
Now I cruise at 45 to 60 miles per hour. Sometimes I create my own ‘school zone’ so I can slow down and smell the rosemary and thyme and wallow in leisure. I fill my time with the people and activities I enjoy. Read more of this post

A recent business trip to Connecticut had our team determined to see something more of this beautiful state beyond our hotel. On an evening that was warm enough to hint at spring, we drove the country backroads from Meriden to the shore town of Clinton. A right turn at Town Marina Road did not disappoint. This residential road, filled with 19th century homes, eventually led to a small marina and lobster shack, which were the quintessential picture of small town New England.

We can learn a lot about rendering a good composition by watching cartoons. Art directors on some of the earliest shorts and features understood the importance of pulling an audience into a scene with the use of background, middle-ground and foreground elements. Read more of this post
