As a personal fan of Dali’s work, I am excited to share that the long awaited Salvador Dali Museum has recently opened in St Petersburg Florida. The addition to the museum was developed by HOK, and lead by Yann Weymouth who worked alongside I.M. Pei to design the Louvre’s glass pyramid.

Recently a team from FRCH had the opportunity to travel to London to see the best and brightest in retail. We took an afternoon to simply get lost, wandering the neighborhood north of bustling Oxford Street. Just across the street from Tsunami Kitchens was a shop for British clothing designer Margaret Howell.

Showing off their craft and attention to detail, we met the team from Vizona who specialized in engineering and implementing retail concepts.
The tonality and finishes of Vizona’s booth exemplify the hot trend of white mixed with warm light-tone wood. The horizontal stacks of rough wood allow glimpses into the booth and contrasted with vertical slat screens to create a dramatic environment.

Paper sculpture is captivating, and the Ralph Pucci mannequins at Cofrad Mannequins were the most exciting use of paper for fashion at the show. Layers of cut and rolled paper were used to create dresses for the mannequins and used as screens for the booth.

One of the most striking booths at EuroShop was by German event design company Dart. The booth was a series of staggered boxes that gave visitors a progression through clean spaces and transparencies. The use of high contrast black and white with warm light wood was a common color scheme among many of our favorite booths.

Losanges is a new collection of rugs by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for Spanish brand Nanimarquina. The Bouroullec brothers are known for designs of simplicity and elegance, this rug is no exception and explores geometric design with artisan craft.
