Bienvenido a Miami

In a mash up of high end architecture and car storage, 1111 Lincoln Road is changing the definition of a parking garage.
“This is not a parking garage, it’s really a civic space.” -Wennett
Because of zoning regulations, one high end neighborhood in Miami has been famously short on parking. Developer Robert Wennett took the opportunity to create a building that could be more than just a concrete car park. Known for his contemporary art collection and sprinkling his properties with million-dollar Dan Graham sculptures, Wennett commissioned Herzog & de Meuron for the design and renovation of the property. These images tell the story of soaring spaces, clean lines and dramatic views, all in contrast to the design of a typical car park.
The structure houses a high end clothing store, rooftop event space and luxury residences. Also notable is the striking design of the 1111 website. Influenced by the faceted lines of the architecture, a bold black and white graphic movie introduces the space and creates a framework to highlight 1111’s amenities.

Nice idea.
