James Gurney’s Lecture
February 25, 2011 1 Comment
As I mentioned at the FRCH Annual Breakfast, James Gurney, Author and Illustrator extraordinaire, will speak about his work and expertise here at FRCH. This will be an extremely informative and inspirational session and we are truly excited to have this opportunity, which is being coordinated through FRCH’s Training and Development Committee.
While we thought we would host the event in the Spring, it now looks like it will happen in the Fall due to scheduling conflicts. As a result of the date change James will have the opportunity to speak at other institutions and schools in the area including the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program.
James writes a daily BLOG about life as an artist, his techniques and travels and some of the things that inspire him most. I urge you to check it out!
Here is a LINK to a step by step look at how the painting below was created.
Keep an eye out for more details on this exciting event!

Phillip, Thanks for the intro to JG. Enjoyed very much the development of the Market Square illustration. I’ve given Dinotopia to several nieces and nephews. Unfortunately never kept a copy for myself. Bummer! I look forward to his visit in the fall. Thanks again. Kate
